FELL'S GRAVE
The ashes and remains of the world that came before, incinerated by The Keeper in an attempt to save the entities from The Corrosion. There was no other choice, after all. It is guarded by invisible entities and Project Fell, an Observer that preserves its memory in silent vigil.

THE OVERWORLD
The Overworld is the primary dimension of Yokai, as well as the largest and most complex. Due to its creation by an experienced Keeper, it is more complex than most vanilla generations, with a large list of entities that spawn and blocks that generate within its code. The center of it was cut off from the rest with powerful world borders, and kept vanilla. This was to keep potential problems and leakage contained within its spawn or primary entryway, and to protect the rest of the world and dimensions.
With the world borders down, the complexity of the rest of the Overworld reached spawn, and from its spawn, horrors began to affect the rest of the Overworld beyond where the borders stood.
The current spawn is known as Emberlan, a harbor city. They are no longer safe. -
THE NETHER
The Nether is a dimension of warmth, bubbling beneath the Overworld dimension. Its code is alive, a life form akin to a plant. It receives energy with exposure to intense emotion. As a result, everything in the Nether is geared towards provoking emotion. From the familial warmth of the piglins, to the sorrow of the ghasts, to the passionate protectiveness of those fiery golems known as blazes, the Nether keeps its own warm and safe.
In addition, to ensure the protection and continued life of those within, it relies on the emotions of those outsiders who pass through. Most notably, it can create energy from fear, something those travelers often feel while exploring the depths of the Nether. It needs them back.
The Nether radiates heat from its Heart, which absorbs emotion and channels it into warmth. The Heart is safeguarded by a single entity selected to be its protector, and hidden away deep in its biomes. -
THE END
The End is a dimension that mixes with the Void, with void-repellent rock floating at its surface. Should one venture too far into the Void below, they will be crushed. The void is a generation of nothing– few things spawn in the End, things are only warped and transformed by exposure to the Void.
One who is infected by Endermites will become an Enderman or Enderbeast in time. Dragons guard the portals and the “Egg”-- or World Backup– closely. -
THE DREAMSCAPE
The Dreamscape is an Observer large and complex enough to be interacted with as if it were a dimension. It is essentially a living being that fuels itself by consuming entity souls. To aid in the collection of souls, it utilizes Phantoms, entity souls with a complete symbiotic attachment to the Dreamscape, or souls born from those entity souls. Phantoms act as a gateway from any one dimension, usually the Overworld, to the Dreamscape.
The Dreamscape is ever-changing and can reorganize/change itself as needed to kill entities or make room for Phantom colony homes. The center of the Dreamscape is the most stable, with regions that never change for centuries, or that only get slightly altered to make better resting places for Phantoms. The outer regions of the Dreamscape are ever shifting, often molding themselves to the sleeping subsconscious of entity souls who manage to interact with and peek at the Dreamscape (which has thus earned this Observer’s name). -
THE SOURCE CODE
The Source Code is the core of the Yokai world that contains the Configuration, File Transfer Protocol, World Generation, and important data and information of the world. Essentially, it is the storage of the World Code. The Source Code is used primarily as a base of operation for the Helpers and the Keeper themself. For accessibility, it is presented as a dimension by the Keeper instead of abstract programming and magic.

THE FIREWALL
The Firewall is the furthest dimension from the others, encompassing the world of Yokai and acting as its ultimate protection. The Firewall screens entity souls that wander from the void into Yokai, and determines if the soul is safe to proceed into the world code to spawn as an entity of Yokai. Souls that are deemed griefers, trolls, hackers, thieves, or general rulebreakers are caught in the Firewall and unable to advance.
As a service to other worlds and defense mechanism, the Firewall generally keeps these souls contained, with the nature of the Firewall slowly warping these souls until they are unrecognizable and hollow, lacking self awareness and sentience, and eventually no longer considered a threat. These warped souls are known as Demons, and are permitted to wander freely in the Firewall, as they are naught but mindless mobs. -
THE FARLANDS
The Farlands is a single dimension world separate from the world of Yokai. It has no End or Nether, and appears to only have a warped Overworld generating nothing but seas and stark pillars of quartz, with meadow and forest biomes overlaying them. This world is eternally set to peaceful, with only non hostile mobs spawning. The Farlands also affects entity souls with slow falling and weakness, to prevent them from dying or fighting.
In truth, the Farlands is absorbing energy from foreign entity souls, and attempting to leech energy off of Yokai, only fully stopped by the Dreamscape separating the two. Why it is doing this or where it came from is unknown to even Yokai’s Helpers. -
LOSTLIGHT
When an entity dies, its code/soul undergoes dimension-specific processing. In the Nether, it's incinerated, forming soul sand/soil; in the End, it may wander the void, become an Observer, or explore other realms. In the Overworld, the entity typically reincarnates, becomes a lost ghost, or wanders as a wisp. If claimed by an Observer, the soul returns to its creator/owner.
If none of these happen, the soul enters Limbo, referred to as 'Lostlight.' Inescapable, Lostlight imprisons forgotten souls indefinitely. It hungers for souls, hosting those with minimal sentience or weak will, such as creeper and slime fragments, creating a dimension of perpetual yearning. -
VARSKSPACE
Varskspace is the formal name for the Outer Reaches of Yokai. It essentially is the chunks of void that are still considered a part of the world, just barely. It is the furthest from all the dimensions. Due to world glitches, lightning currently can whisk entities away to this cold and deserted region. It quickly tries to evict any entities, returning them immediately to the Overworld, though typically much further from where they left. Lurking in its barrenness is the occasional Observer or two.
